Belfast is a city of industry and elegance that boasts a rich and varied past. This panoramic tour of the city will introduce you to the many features of Northern Ireland’s largest city — from the majestic City Hall to the political wall murals. Enjoy a guided drive past sights such as the Grand Opera House and the Albert Memorial before passing Queen’s University and the Botanic Gardens. You will then drive past Belfast City Hall. The Renaissance-style building has a whispering gallery, and a mural by John Luke sits in the main landing — it is a romanticized portrayal of the great old industries of Belfast: rope making, linen and shipbuilding. There is also the marble figure of “Thane,” sculpted by Sir Thomas Brock and commemorating the sinking of the RMS Titanic in 1912, on a granite pedestal. Your next stop is the Titanic Experience, Belfast’s most popular tourist attraction. Titanic Belfast® is located right beside the historic site of this world-famous ship’s construction. Housed in an iconic 6-floor building, this state-of-the-art visitor experience tells the story of Titanic from her conception in Belfast in the early 1900s and her construction to her famous maiden voyage and tragic end. Watch the launch from the slipways and explore the extravagant luxury and superb craftsmanship of Titanic’s interiors. You will learn the stories of the passengers, the crew and the heroes of the day. Relive the drama of the tragic end to Titanic’s only voyage, and visit the wreck at her resting place on the floor of the North Atlantic. Afterward, you’ll have a short amount of free time to enjoy breathtaking views where the Titanic was launched, or to relax in one of the superb restaurants. If you’d like a souvenir, there are plenty to choose from in the Titanic Store before rejoining your motor coach for your return journey back to the ship.

Embark on a journey to the picturesque Strangford Lough and to the Castle Ward Estate, location for the filming of the hit television series Game of Thrones™. Step behind the scenes and become immersed in the world from the hit-television show. There will be an opportunity to view a big screen clip of the special effects, which turn this site into what fans of the show will recognize as the land of Winterfell. You’ll also have the chance to try your hand at the medieval sport of archery. From your first stop, a short mini bus ride will then take you to Audley’s Castle, where you’ll see numerous areas where the series have been filmed. Your knowledge of the series will also be tested, as you are invited to identify different filming locations from screenshots of the set. Relish in a photo opportunity with actual costumes from the series, giving you a great sense of what it is like to be a character from the hit show.

Northern Ireland is a country of beauty and variety, and the perfect place to experience it all is the heart of County Down. Watch as the sea itself invades the land, forming the great bird sanctuary and yachting paradise of Strangford Lough. St. Patrick — the patron saint of Ireland — sailed into the lough in AD 432 and eventually died at Downpatrick. Departing from the pier, you will first visit Belfast, on the River Lagan for a short drive through the city. You’ll then travel south outside the city via Carryduff to County Down. Enjoy a visit to St. Patrick’s Centre. The exhibition tells the fascinating story of Ireland’s patron saint, and light is shone on the arrival of Christianity in Ireland and its development through his mission. The exhibition also examines the major impact of Irish missionaries in Dark Age Europe — a legacy that remains to this day. You will also visit Down Cathedral and the patron saint’s grave in the cathedral graveyard. Continue on to Saul Church, a replica of an early Christian church that stands on the site where legend has it that St. Patrick preached his first sermon in Ireland. Then make your way to the pretty village of Strangford for lunch. After lunch, enjoy a short ferry crossing to Portaferry on the Ards Peninsula. You will travel alongside the banks of Strangford Lough before arriving at Grey Abbey. Founded by Cistercian monks in 1193, Grey Abbey was endowed by Affreca, the wife of Sir John de Courcy. Grey Abbey, the first true Gothic church built in Ireland, featured sophisticated if unadorned stone carvings. After Grey Abbey, you’ll return back to the port, passing Stormont — home of Northern Ireland’s Parliament — on the way

With its compact size and picturesque location between the mountains and the coast, Belfast has emerged from decades of strife into a vibrant, buzzing destination. Depart from the pier by motor coach and drive to the city center, where you'll begin your guided, walking tour. You'll stroll the charming streets of Belfast and immerse yourself in its 300 years of history. Savor the architectural gems and learn about the city’s humble origins as you walk following the original street layout designed in the 1660s. Starting at the City Hall, symbolic of Belfast’s Victorian greatness, you’ll continue down Donegall Place to Castle Lane, the original home of the Donegall family before they moved to Belfast Castle at Cave Hill. Continue along the River Lagan to Belfast’s leaning tower — the Albert Clock, built in 1867. Experience the glamour and tragedy of the Titanic by visiting landmarks from the period and hearing about the characters that frequented them. Next, visit one of Belfast’s finest pubs for refreshments. The city's friendly pubs have been the cornerstone of Belfast social life for centuries. Some have music, many with good food, and all with a wonderful atmosphere and plenty of “craic” (entertaining conversation). Afterwards, rejoin your motor coach and guide for your return journey to the ship, passing along the way the renowned Falls & Shankill Roads (conditions permitting). A stop will be made for you to photograph the murals that tell the story of Belfast’s troubled past.

Departing from the pier in Belfast, you will travel to Larne to join the Antrim Coast Road. From there you'll enjoy a relaxing, 3-hour drive through gorgeous vistas of windswept coastline, unrivaled seascapes, towering cliffs, white sandy beaches, tranquil glens and lush forest parks. You will see along the way beautiful fishing villages and dramatic headlands. From the magnificent vantage point at Fair Head and Murlough Bay, you'll see uninterrupted views of Scotland’s Mull of Kintyre, as well as the wild and mysterious island of Rathlin, just seven miles off the coast. Then, take advantage of a photo stop at the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge viewing point, which also offers you a chance to stretch your legs. Continue your drive along the coast with an additional photo stop Dunluce Castle, and then enjoy lunch at a local hotel. Next, you will visit the Giant’s Causeway — a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This causeway is a remarkable landform that takes its name from the legend of the giant Finn MacCool. For centuries, visitors have marveled at the majesty and mystery of the causeway — a natural rampart against the unbridled ferocity of Atlantic storms. You'll travel aboard the Causeway Coaster Minibus while listening to stories about the area's rich mythology, history, geology, flora and fauna. Upon arrival, you'll stop at the Visitor Centre at the Giant's Causeway. This interpretative center allows visitors to ponder how the causeway’s 40,000 basalt stones were formed while finding inspiration in its rugged symmetry. Return to Belfast via the inland route of Bushmills and Ballymena — a 90-minute drive.

Your tour begins with a panoramic drive through Belfast. Admire the many stately Victorian and Edwardian buildings, which feature elaborate sculptures over their doors and windows. Peering down from the high ledges of banks and old linen warehouses are carved-stone heads of gods, poets, scientists, kings and queens. You will drive past City Hall, Queens University and Waterfront Hall, stopping for a closer look at some of the city’s more intriguing sights, the political wall murals for which Belfast is famous. Then venture outside the city to the picturesque village of Hillsborough, where you’ll see why this charming town has won numerous awards in the Ulster in Bloom competition. Stop for a visit to Hillsborough Castle. Delight in discovering the local residence of the British royal family and visiting dignitaries. A guided tour of the castle will teach you about the family history of the Marquess of Downshire. Hear about the castle’s role in more recent Northern Ireland history, and see many interesting pieces of furniture and works of art. Afterward, you’ll have time to stroll through the gardens or explore the beautiful village of Hillsborough. It will then be time to take the journey back to your ship.

Depart the port of Belfast and drive inland through Ballymena and Bushmills to the North Antrim Coast. You will arrive at your destination: The Giant’s Causeway — a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1986. For centuries, visitors have marveled at its majesty and mystery. The unique rock formations have, for millions of years, stood as a natural rampart against the unbridled ferocity of the Atlantic storms, while the rugged symmetry of the columns never fail to intrigue and inspire. To stroll the Giants Causeway is to voyage back in time. The Summer of 2012 marked the opening of the causeway’s Visitor Centre. This interpretative center will entertain you with several theories on how people believe the causeway’s 40,000 basalt stones were formed — you can decide which is most likely (or simply most interesting!) More stories on the area’s rich mythology, history, geology, flora and fauna will paint a picture of the Causeway in your mind before you actually make your way to the stones themselves. Your imagination will continue to grow as you travel along the stepping-stones that lead to either what some view as the creative turbulence of a bygone volcanic age, or what others believe is a result of legends of the past. After your memorable visit to this top visitor attraction, you will rejoin your guide aboard a motor coach for your return drive to your ship. If time permits, you will make a stop to take photos at Dunluce Castle — a medieval Irish castle — and the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge. Enjoy a brief drive along the stunning Antrim Coast before turning inland at Ballycastle for Belfast, and back to the pier.

Your tour takes you along the city’s major thoroughfares and past many of Belfast’s impressive buildings, including the Harbor Office and the Customs House. You will also see two of the city’s most remarkable structures — the giant cranes of the Harland and Wolff Shipyards. Affectionately known as Samson and Goliath, the German-built cranes dominate the skyline. It was also in these shipyards that the ill-fated Titanic ship was built. On the grounds of City Hall, you will be able to see its poignant memorial. You'll then, continue your tour through the city to the famous Queen's University, established in 1845 by Queen Victoria as one of the three Queen's Colleges of Ireland. The Lanyon Building, located within Queen's University, is also home to The Naughton Gallery and the Canada Room, where George Mitchell laid the foundation for the Northern Ireland peace process. Next, you’ll venture a few miles outside the city to see neoclassical Stormont, the seat of the Northern Ireland Assembly. A symbol of progress to Northern Ireland’s troubled past, the power-sharing executives with responsibility for Northern affairs rule from this impressive building. Your next visit will be the political wall murals, located on the Protestant Shankill Road and the Catholic Falls Road. Then, stop for an inside visit of Belfast Cathedral — the Cathedral Church of St. Anne, whose foundation stones were first laid back in September 1899. Afterwards, enjoy some free time to shop in the bustling city of Belfast. Having marveled at the beauty and character of Belfast and all it has to offer, you'll return to the port and your ship.

Next, you’ll travel a bit outside of the city to see the Parliament Buildings, often referred to as Stormont. A symbol of progress throughout Northern Ireland’s troubled past, the neoclassical building is the seat of the Northern Ireland Assembly. Another highlight of the tour is your journey to Cave Hill, where Belfast Castle is located. With its familiar outline visible from many parts of the city, Cave Hill has captivated people for generations — becoming a fixture of Belfast’s history and culture. Belfast Castle, situated on the hill’s lower slopes, is one of Belfast’s most historically significant structures. Adding to its allure are beautiful gardens and an adjoining park. Before returning to your ship, you will have the chance to appreciate the splendid sight of Belfast Lough, as well as the view of the city below.

After boarding your motor coach at the pier, you will venture into the city, viewing its well-known landmarks such as City Hall, Queens University, the Ulster Museum, the Botanic Gardens and the Albert Memorial Clock.
