Walk among the ruins that, in exquisite detail, paint a picture of daily Roman life. Founded by the Greeks and named after Hercules, the Greek god, Herculaneum later became a Roman city, and in 79 A.D., it met its ultimate demise when Mt. Vesuvius erupted.
