Holland America Line's youth activities program, Club HAL, offers an array of entertaining events for kids and teens ages 3-17, supervised by a full-time, professionally trained staff. They'll have an opportunity to join other kids their age for arts and crafts, sports, video game competitions, scavenger hunts, challenging team games and themed parties.

An expert guide will provide a narrative of the area's history en route to the trailhead, which sits high in the majestic mountains of Chichagof Island.

Explore the wilds of Chichagof Island on a 2½-hour self-drive Jeep™ excursion. Your guide will lead you on a journey of discovery while you drive a four-person Jeep Wrangler™ on roads less traveled.

This enjoyable tasting session is hosted by a friendly local chef, who specializes in the preparation of seafood and other local delicacies. He/she will take you through the entire cooking process as you gather around a large grill, absorbing many secrets of the trade. Watch and learn, as the catch-of-the-day is filleted, before preparing your own seafood treat with a hands-on class under the tutelage of your culinary host.

Explore the avian diversity of Hoonah's lush temperate rain forest and its surrounding tidal waters. Your expert local guide takes you to the best places to scope for seabirds, ducks, gulls and bald eagles.

Live your own 'big fish' story. Board a modern cabin cruiser as you embark on the ultimate fishing excursion to the rich waters of Icy Strait. Following a brief orientation, drop your line as your local guide searches for one of the hottest fishing spots known only to locals. The waters of Icy Strait are teeming with halibut, making angling conditions ideal. Icy Strait is known for its abundance of marine life and brilliant photo opportunities.

Enjoy an all-you-can-eat salmon bake feast. Savor Alaskan-caught wild salmon barbecued over an open alderwood fire served with a tasty secret sauce and accompanied by parmesan chicken, cheesy au gratin potatoes, baked beans with reindeer sausage, wild rice pilaf, a variety of salads, cornbread, lemonade, coffee, tea, hot apple cider, hot chocolate as well as blueberry cake for dessert. Beer, wine and soda are available for purchase.

View Alaska's humpback whales and the Mendenhall Glacier on a small-group excursion (capacity is limited to 20 travelers) tailored for sensational encounters with nature. On a custom-built safari vessel, you'll seek out marine wildlife and step away from the crowds on a secluded rain forest trail -- two pristine habitats to explore on a single tour. On this trip you will learn about the interdependence of species and the many connections between the land and sea. This exploration introduces you to this pristine wilderness in an intimate setting with a certified naturalist guide as your leader.

Meet your driver shipside and relax as a Mercedes Sprinter van conveys you to Auke Bay, just 25 minutes from Juneau. Here, your captain welcomes you aboard the only luxury whale-watching day-yacht in Alaska. Set off for a morning or afternoon on the waters surrounding Juneau -- perhaps the best place in the entire world to observe humpback whales in the in summer. You're guaranteed to see at least one today. Keep an eye out for other wildlife too, such as orca whales, bald eagles, harbor seals, Steller sea lions, and even the occasional brown or black bear.

Journey to the heart of the Tongass National Forest and the Eaglecrest ski area. Explore this beautiful, remote rain-forest setting, surrounded by mountain views and rushing streams. Your guide is a naturalist, ready to share his/her knowledge of the local flora and fauna.

Take a motor coach ride to scenic Auke Bay and board a water-jet-powered catamaran specifically designed for wildlife viewing. Relax in the warm, comfortable cabin surrounded by large windows as you ply the island-studded waters of Stephens Passage. This area is world-renowned as a favored summer feeding ground for humpback whales. Once whales have been sighted, your captain will gently maneuver the vessel to allow exceptional viewing and photo opportunities as these graceful ocean giants slowly arc their massive tail flukes into the air. The whales are often close enough to hear them breathe.

The caravan of karts sets off to explore the remote backcountry along several miles of improved forest trail, with your guide in the lead ATV. Feel the rush of adrenaline at the start of your journey in a custom-designed Tomcar that tests your ability to traverse through the wilderness. Take off from Ketchikan on a 20-minute flight by floatplane, headed to a remote site in the Tongass National Forest noted for its salmon-rich streams and abundant wildlife. Get acquainted with your Polaris Ranger vehicle and, after a quick safety orientation and operating instructions, it's your turn to drive. Follow your guide on a trail through forest surrounded by beautiful scenery. Drive over bridges with gurgling streams with salmon running up them in season, and pass along a wildflower meadow on your way to a scenic estuary. Here, you will stop and search for wildlife such as Alaska coastal brown bear and Sitka black-tail deer.

Walk through history and nature as you discover the heart and soul of Alaska's coastal communities in this 'rain forest city'. From soaring eagles to the tiniest vole, from the first peoples of Sitka to today's modern residents, from forest to shoreline, all elements combine here to form a unique frontier town. Discover how the first people thrived here, while successive waves of Russians and Americans were drawn to this rich confluence of land and sea to harvest its bounty and make their own mark. You can still see the spires of Russian Orthodoxy in the heart of small-town Sitka, while towering totems perch on the edge of the Pacific Ocean.

Departing the pier you will drive to the Alaska Raptor Center where you will spend time learning about the many birds of prey in the Flight Center and outside bird habitats. The Raptor Center specializes in the care of the American bald eagle. A presentation with a live bird on a handler's glove will give you a chance to ask questions.

Gear up with a waterproof outfit. After a safety briefing, your captain skillfully navigates the offshore islands. You'll see reefs and rock pinnacles that poke out of the water as perches for bald eagles and beautiful seabirds. What lies beneath? This tour will show you its heart and soul, and why so many visitors from around the world come each year to the City of Gardens. From the Cruise Terminal on Ogden Point, you’ll head into the upscale residential neighborhoods, complete with manicured lawns, abundant flowers of all shapes and sizes, and million-dollar coastal views of the Strait of Juan de Fuca and the Olympic Mountains in Washington State. Watch for the highlights of Victoria, historic China Town, and city and island views. Your drive will conclude with views of the Inner Harbour -- the centerpiece of Victoria.
