It all begins at Gustav Adolf Square, where you’ll learn more about the history of Gothenburg and the significance of its canals as a trade center. Then, continue down the water where you will see Gothenburg’s famous opera house. Driving through the city center, you will pass by Gothenburg’s beautiful and serene park, Slottskogen, located right in the middle of the Linnéstaden district. At the famous Götaplatsen square, you will see the fountain the monumental Poseidon statue sculpted by Carl Milles. Gothenburg’s famous street, Aveneyn, is also nearby featuring a plethora of boutiques, pubs and cafés. Continuing on, you will come across the events district, the Swedish Exhibition, the Congress Center, and the multipurpose stadium, Ullevi. Travelling through the heart of the city, you will pass Götaplatsen, and the Poseidon Fountain. You will then have approximately 1½ hours’ free time in the city, before heading out to the archipelago by ferry. A short stop will be made at the old Öckerö Church dating back to the Middle Ages.
