Experience a true Alaskan mode of transportation while enjoying an aerial view of Anchorage and its surrounding wilderness. You’ll soar over the magnificent Chugach Mountain range surrounding Anchorage and through remote, secluded valleys over Turnagain Arm, named by Captain James Cook. Return to Anchorage and enjoy a bird’s eye view of the skyline and mountains before a thrilling water landing.

The Alaska Aviation Heritage Museum offers an in-depth exploration of Alaska's unique aviation history. Your tour will be led by an experienced museum staffer. Learn about the pioneers of Alaska aviation, see their restored aircraft, discover the bush pilot roots of modern day Alaska Airlines and then take turns to fly yourself in the museum's flight simulator. The aircraft collection includes a 1928 Stearman, a 1931 American Pilgrim, 1943 PBY-5A Catalina, a 1944 Grumman Goose, a 1953 Douglas DC-6, an Alaska Airlines Boeing 737, a McDonnell Douglas/Boeing F-15 and many others.

The 26-acre Alaska Native Heritage Center shares the rich heritage of Alaska's eleven major cultural groups. Experience Alaska Native culture firsthand through engaging storytelling, authentic Native song and dance, artist demonstrations and Native games.

View the historic points of interest in downtown Anchorage from your motor coach; then continue to the Alaska Zoo for a behind-the-scenes tour lead by trained zoo staff. See how wolves, polar bears and many other species thrive in Arctic and sub-Arctic environments. This intimate experience with the animals is not to be missed.

Upgrade your journey between Anchorage and Whittier by adding a cruisetrain to your Alaska adventure. Upon your arrival in Anchorage, you will embark the train at the Alaska Railway Depot for a relaxing train ride to Whittier. These unique, single level domed rail cars with great panoramic windows are just the perfect way to see this magnificent part of Alaska. Skirt the edge of the Turnagain Arm as you head for Whittier. Canyons, cascading waterfalls, glaciers and spectacular scenery await at every turn. Enjoy a meal at your table or in the Club Car—lunch, snacks and beverages are available for purchase. Upon arrival in Whittier, you will disembark at the cruise ship terminal.

Transfer to Kincaid Park in the forested hills along Cook Inlet. Kincaid Park is one of the largest parks within Anchorage. Allowing you to experience the wild side of Alaska's largest city, it is home to snowshoe hare, bald eagles, black bear and moose.

Enjoy an all-you-can-eat salmon bake feast. Savor Alaskan-caught wild salmon barbecued over an open alderwood fire served with a tasty secret sauce and accompanied by parmesan chicken, cheesy au gratin potatoes, baked beans with reindeer sausage, wild rice pilaf, a variety of salads, cornbread, lemonade, coffee, tea, hot apple cider, hot chocolate as well as blueberry cake for dessert. View Alaska's humpback whales and the Mendenhall Glacier on a small-group excursion (capacity is limited to 20 travelers) tailored for sensational encounters with nature. On a custom-built safari vessel, you'll seek out marine wildlife and step away from the crowds on a secluded rain forest trail -- two pristine habitats to explore on a single tour. Meet your driver shipside and relax as a Mercedes Sprinter van conveys you to Auke Bay, just 25 minutes from Juneau. Here, your captain welcomes you aboard the only luxury whale-watching day-yacht in Alaska. Set off for a morning or afternoon on the waters surrounding Juneau -- perhaps the best place in the entire world to observe humpback whales in the in summer. You're guaranteed to see at least one today. Keep an eye out for other wildlife too, such as orca whales, bald eagles, harbor seals, Steller sea lions, and even the occasional brown or black bear.

Journey to the heart of the Tongass National Forest and the Eaglecrest ski area. Explore this beautiful, remote rain-forest setting, surrounded by mountain views and rushing streams. Your guide is a naturalist, ready to share his/her knowledge of the local flora and fauna.

Take a motor coach ride to scenic Auke Bay and board a water-jet-powered catamaran specifically designed for wildlife viewing. Relax in the warm, comfortable cabin surrounded by large windows as you ply the island-studded waters of Stephens Passage. This area is world-renowned as a favored summer feeding ground for humpback whales. Once whales have been sighted, your captain will gently maneuver the vessel to allow exceptional viewing and photo opportunities as these graceful ocean giants slowly arc their massive tail flukes into the air. The whales are often close enough to hear them breathe.

The caravan of karts sets off to explore the remote backcountry along several miles of improved forest trail, with your guide in the lead ATV. Feel the rush of adrenaline at the start of your journey in a custom-designed Tomcar that tests your ability to traverse through the wilderness. A comfortable pace is maintained as you thread your way around steep curves. The road climbs to reveal unparalleled views of the Tongass National Forest, Behm Canal and Alaska's fabled Inside Passage.

Take off from Ketchikan on a 20-minute flight by floatplane, headed to a remote site in the Tongass National Forest noted for its salmon-rich streams and abundant wildlife. The aircraft is equipped with a digital stereo sound system and headsets for each individual guest to enjoy the narration. Fill your senses with adventure and excitement as you take control of a 4-wheel-drive Jeep Wrangler® and wind your way through the rugged back roads of Revillagigedo Island. You'll be paired up with traveling companions in groups of four, and begin the adventure into the mountainous roads of the Tongass National Forest.

Meet your tandem kayak and listen to a safety briefing from your guide. Gain confidence as you paddle out to Eagle Islands. The protected waters provide the opportunity to experience the tranquil, lush, green setting of the Tongass National Forest.

Depart the pier for the drive to park headquarters. Upon arrival, your guide will lead you on a hike along well-maintained natural and gravel trails offering breathtaking views. A variety of seabirds inhabit the park's coastline, and whale sightings are frequently reported in this area throughout the season.

A high-speed boat takes you past Kodiak's harbors and fishing fleet. You will pass through the breathtaking scenery of the nearby islands in search of sea otters, sea lions, harbor seals, and a multitude of sea birds including puffins, gulls, oyster catchers, guillemots and cormorants. You may even be lucky enough to spot a whale.

Visit the Russian Orthodox Church where the priest or a member of the clergy will talk about the Russian church and the historic role it has played in Alaska.

Travel on a US Coast Guard-inspected boat, complete with a comfortable heated cabin, as you head out onto the water in search of Kodiak's abundant marine wildlife. At 40 feet long, this is one of the larger, more comfortable boats in the fleet with full walk-around decks.

Enjoy views of wildlife and scenery from the waters surrounding Kodiak cruising aboard the Shearwater catamaran -- a stable vessel with a comfortable cabin and full walk-around decks. Wildlife often sighted from the Shearwater includes humpback and fin whales, Steller sea lions, sea otters, eagles, horned and tufted puffins and a vast array of other sea birds. Kodiak is home to one of the largest fishing fleets in the United States and boasts spectacular scenery that is best viewed up-close and from a waterside perspective.

Get acquainted with your Polaris Ranger vehicle and, after a quick safety orientation and operating instructions, it's your turn to drive. Follow your guide on a trail through forest surrounded by beautiful scenery. Drive over bridges with gurgling streams with salmon running up them in season, and pass along a wildflower meadow on your way to a scenic estuary. Here, you will stop and search for wildlife such as Alaska coastal brown bear and Sitka black-tail deer.

Walk through history and nature as you discover the heart and soul of Alaska's coastal communities in this 'rain forest city'. From soaring eagles to the tiniest vole, from the first peoples of Sitka to today's modern residents, from forest to shoreline, all elements combine here to form a unique frontier town. Discover how the first people thrived here, while successive waves of Russians and Americans were drawn to this rich confluence of land and sea to harvest its bounty and make their own mark. You can still see the spires of Russian Orthodoxy in the heart of small-town Sitka, while towering totems perch on the edge of the Pacific Ocean.

Departing the pier you will drive to the Alaska Raptor Center where you will spend time learning about the many birds of prey in the Flight Center and outside bird habitats. The Raptor Center specializes in the care of the American bald eagle. A presentation with a live bird on a handler's glove will give you a chance to ask questions.

Gear up with a waterproof outfit. After a safety briefing, your captain skillfully navigates the offshore islands. You'll see reefs and rock pinnacles that poke out of the water as perches for bald eagles and beautiful seabirds. What lies beneath? Look down at the rapidly-growing kelp forests that disappear into the depths of the sound. In shallow water, you may even notice sea stars and anemones.

Set out on this small-group cruise (maximum 16 guests) from the Valdez Small Boat Harbor on board the Kimberlin's Cat -- a fast, 45-foot landing-craft-style catamaran. This vessel is USCG inspected, and features a roomy, heated cabin with bench seats, tables, a restroom and a large viewing deck.
