This appealing half-day outing will acquaint you the rich history of Genoa's aristocracy, as showcased in the splendid palaces found along the city's Via Garibaldi. As one of Genoa's oldest sections, Via Garibaldi dates back to the Renaissance era with resplendent edifices that are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Following a paved road, you will first reach the Sanctuary of Santa Rosalia, built inside a cave near the top of Monte Pellegrino. Visit the sacred cave and see the bones of the saint, then enjoy the enchanting view of the Mondello Gulf and the city below. Before starting the descent along an old cobbled road  nowadays used by pilgrims  stop to recover your strength at the "Sosta del ciclista" where you can taste some authentic Palermo street food. Going down the promontory, youll reach the Parco della Favorita, the green lung of the city, and Mondello, where you will have some time to relax on the beach. Finally, enjoy a photo stop at the exquisite Chinese Palazzina, built in the 18th century. Your tour wraps up with your return to the port. This Christmas-themed outing to the mountain town of Erice  which stands atop Mount Erice at approx. 750 m above mean sea level  begins with about 1.5 hours on the coach, after which a mere 10-minute walk will see you reach your first stop: the 14th-century Gothic "Mother Church".
