This tour is made easier by riding a pedelec - an electrically powered bicycle which assists the rider's pedal power at speeds of up to 25 km/h. Leaving the port, you'll pedal around the harbour basin past Genoa Aquarium and the Old Harbour (Lanterna) all the way to the Porta del Molo. Cycling through the atmospheric narrow "caruggi" streets, you'll come to the Old City Gate (Porta Soprana) and Christopher Columbus' House, located just outside the ancient medieval city walls. From there, you'll continue to Genoa Cathedral and the Piazza De Ferrari, where you'll have a first short stop to admire the beauty of this magnificent square and the nearby Doge's Palace, one of the oldest buildings in the city. Photo break over, you'll leave the old city to visit the famously picturesque village of Boccadasse, where you'll have the opportunity to enjoy a leisurely coffee or a swim from the small but charming beach, surrounded by cafés. Suitably refreshed, you'll cycle back towards the city centre, but turn north before getting there to access a magnificent viewpoint with panoramic vistas of the city. The partly steep and winding road will lead you to the Terrazze Capolinea Funicular Railway Station for a quick coffee break before you make your descent back to the city and port.

Short but sweet, this entertaining tour takes you off the ship to discover the city of Genoa by Segway®, a great means of transport that's not only fun and very green, but also makes for leisurely urban exploration without having to get footsore in the process. Your guided roundup of Genoa's main sights takes you through the town's historical centre and includes views of the 13th- to 16th-century Doges' Palace, the birthplace of Christopher Columbus and Porta Soprana, the best-known section of Genoa's remaining city walls. Your Segway® tour then rolls to a close with your return to the ship.

Leave the ship for a few hours and instead check yourself in to a thoroughly edutational and family-friendly outing for a behind-the-scenes look at Italy's largest aquarium, the Acquario di Genova. Built to coincide with the Genoa Expo in 1992, which in turn commemorated the 500th anniversary of the New World being discovered by Columbus, the aquarium is home to a vast collection of marine wildlife. After a short ferry transfer to the old part of Genoa and the Acquario, you and your family can first enjoy an unguided visit of the various tanks that provide a habitat for tropical fish, sharks, natural coral, penguins and dolphins. At a prearranged time, you'll then proceed on an expertly guided "behind-the-scenes" tour of the facility, during which you'll get to see the on-site laboratories, maintenance and plankton farming activities as well as how the animals are cared for and reared. And among the tank backstage areas, highlights include the jellyfish and dolphin enclosures. Your time at the Expo site wraps up with a little more time to explore on your own before the boat returns you to the ship.

This appealing half-day outing will acquaint you the rich history of Genoa's aristocracy, as showcased in the splendid palaces found along the city's Via Garibaldi. As one of Genoa's oldest sections, Via Garibaldi dates back to the Renaissance era with resplendent edifices that are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. You'll first meet your guide and then stroll along the time-honored street with inside visits planned at the richly stuccoes Palazzo Nicolosio Lomellino and Palazzo Bianco. Constructed between 1530 and 1540, Palazzo Bianco hosts key art collections by old masters from the 12th- to 17th-century, including Van Dyck, Rubens, Paolo Veronese and forms part of the Le Strade Nuove Museums. These brushes with history will be followed by a break to taste some of the city's world-famous pesto sauce at Palazzo Cattaneo-Adorno before you can enjoy some leisure time on your own. The walk back to Port Antico and your cruise ship then brings the outing to a close.

Milan is the most famous town for fashion and shopping, here you will immerse into its famous designer shops including Gucci, Armani, and Versace, and for its stylish ambience. Take advantage of this tour to have good chance for window browsing and soak up the atmosphere of this famous city. Leave the port for a 2-hour coach drive to Milan and enjoy free time in the city with some good shopping opportunity. At the fixed time, you will meet your coach again to drive back to Genoa port and to your cruise ship.

Tiny in size and one of those places that time seemingly forgot, the historical village of Guadalest with Moorish origins rewards visitors with buildings dating back more than 400 years, gorgeous views of the nearby Sierra d'Aixorta, Sierra de Serella and Sierra de Aitana mountains and an 11th-century Muslim-built castle, among others. Your tour to Guadalest begins with an approx. 1-hour drive, passing Benidorm on the way, to reach the elevated location of this charming village. You'll then get to pay the imposing Castle of San José, aka the Castle of L'Alcazaiba, a visit, after which you'll move on to another of Guadalest's key attractions, Orduña House. This four-level dwelling - built by the originally Basque Orduña family mid-17th-century - finally became a municipal museum following refurbishment work in the mid-1990s. This is where interesting architecture meets beautiful interiors and furnishings, a place to relive history in the most enjoyable way. One of the highlights of Orduña House is its library with more than 1.000 volumes. Leaving Orduña House behind, your outing will then end with your return drive to Alicante and your ship.

A short drive to the south of Alicante and just a little inland from the Costa Blanca coastline lies Elche, a Spanish city noted particularly for its abundance of palm groves, one of which is the Huerto del Cura. After an enjoyable coach ride to the city, your sightseeing tour will first take you past Elche's major landmarks before you pay the amazing Huerto del Cura a visit. Providing dappled shade in which to walk and savour the surroundings, you begin with a walk down the the municipal garden, a good chance to be ready for the highlight of the tour: the "Huerto del Cura" (the Priest's Garden): With more than 300 different species, it is home to a wide variety of tropical and Mediterranean plants, including the seven-fronded "Imperial Palm", which was named after the Empress Elisabeth of Austria, or Sisi, as she was affectionately known. The return drive to Alicante then ends your tour.

Leave the ship for a 45-minute coach drive to Benidorm, a coastal town known for its hotel industry, beaches, and skyscrapers. Often referred to as the "New York of the Mediterranean" Benidorm is the city with the most skyscrapers per inhabitant in the world and per square meter second only to New York. You will have approx. 2.5 hours to spend as you like it. In spite of being a modern city, Benidorm has much to offer. You can explore the old part, Tossal de la Cala, pay a visit to the Church of Saint James and Anne, dating back to 1740, take a walk along its many famous beaches, reach the viewpoints for a look over the city or look for a souvenir. You will have enough time to visit the city at your pace before joining the coach again for the return back to Alicante and your ship.

In addition to its holiday-friendly vibe and sun-drenched beaches, the resort of Alicante is equally blessed with a rich history and numerous appealing landmarks, some of which you will have a chance to see on this entertaining tour. Setting off on foot, you'll first make your way through the city on a route that includes views of such gems as the 18th-century Baroque-style town hall and a visit to the Museo de Hogueras  Les Fogueres de Sant Joan. This curious museum is dedicated to showing how Alicante's midsummer St. John's Eve celebrations  including the bonfires that traditionally go with the festival  have taken shape through their history. Five exhibition rooms will be yours to explore with your guide. Moving on by coach, the Castle of Santa Bárbara, built in the 9th century while the Iberian Peninsula was under Muslim rule, comes next. Situated on top of Mount Benacantil at a height of 166 m above mean sea level, the castle is not only fun to explore, but also provides stunning views of Alicante and the harbour. After your castle visit, the tour will end with your return drive to the port and your ship.

In addition to its holiday-friendly vibe and sun-drenched beaches, the resort of Alicante is equally blessed with a rich history and numerous appealing landmarks, some of which you will have a chance to see on this basic and pleasant tour. Setting off on foot, you'll first make your way through the city on a route that includes views of such gems as the 18th-century Baroque-style town hall and a visit to the Museo de Hogueras  Les Fogueres de Sant Joan. This curious museum is dedicated to showing how Alicante's midsummer St. John's Eve celebrations  including the bonfires that traditionally go with the festival  have taken shape through their history. Five exhibition rooms will be yours to explore with your guide. Moving on by coach, enjoy a sightseeing coach drive through the streets of Alicante with external views of the bullring and other attractions. The tour concludes with your return to the port.

A 45-minute bus ride from Alicante takes a some of hours of fun at the Terra Natura theme park and the Aquanatura water park. Terra Natura fulfils the dream of many who like to see wild animals in their own environment, without restrictions, but at the same time without having to go to faraway and exotic places. The park is home to more than 1.500 animals of 200 different species, so you will be spoilt for choice during your individual visit. Elephants, lions, tigers, crocodiles, jaguars, but also reptiles and exotic birds. You can watch an educational show with birds of prey such as eagles, hawks, owls. An educational and entertaining experience for the whole family. And if the heat prompts you to choose water activities, the Aquanatura Park will satisfy all your needs. With a Greek-themed layout that includes more than 1 km of slides, beach bars and a dedicated children's pool, Aqua Natura offers something for guests of all ages. A walk leads to the beach, where you can relax in the sun or take a swim in the sea. You can experience the thrill of "La Cresta", a slide that reaches a height of more than 15 metres and will make you feel weightless as you slide down a completely enclosed course. Try the winding path of the Aqua Snake, the fast descent of the Rio Aventura or half a dozen other unique attractions to experience the excitement and exhilaration that Aqua Natura has in store for you. Don't miss the sea lion experiences or the mermaid school! When you are ready to relax, visit the solarium or head to Zorba Beach and relax in the 1.2-acre (5.000 square metres) pool. With attractions ranging from 3 man-made islands to waterfalls and geysers, a picturesque and relaxing experience awaits you. The tour concludes with the return to the port.

Bottoms up  Jerez is the home of sherry and we will drink to your health during this fun half day outing! Enjoy a 45-minute drive to Jerez de la Frontera, a small, pretty town some 50 km from Cadiz. Visit the wine cellars and learn more about the famous Jerez sherry. Have fun spotting the signatures of celebrities that have visited the wine cellars and keep your eyes open for the glass of wine and cheese that is on the floor for the cellar mouse! We will end the excursion with a sightseeing tour of Jerez before returning to port.

Undoubtedly, the best way to explore the city of Cadiz is on foot. Following a lovely 45-minute scenic drive, you'll reach this enchanting city to begin your explorations with a short guided walking tour through the narrow, cobblestone streets. Leaving Medina Sidonia behind, your tour will continue to Arcos de La Frontera, located on a rocky promontory with breath-taking views over the surrounding countryside. Start your walking tour, immersed in the labyrinth of steep, narrow streets and exceptional architecture of its Arabic past. You'll then be able to enjoy some free time on your own before walking down to your coach for the drive back to the port.

After leaving the port, your tour begins with an enjoyable 2-hour drive through the Spanish countryside to Seville, a stunning Spanish city and the capital of the autonomous community of Andalusia. Independent travellers will appreciate having plenty of free time to explore this lovely city at their leisure. The old part of town is the largest in Spain and covers almost 4 square kilometres and Seville harbour, approx. 80 km from the coast, is Spains only river port. Whether you check out the monuments and historical buildings, visit the beautiful Cathedral of Seville, which is also the final resting place of Christopher Columbus, or simply stroll through the elegant streets and squares, especially of the charming Jewish Quarter, you will find Seville is an all-round delight. Make the most of a day spent under the Spanish sun, soaking up the authentic Andalusian atmosphere.

Take the family on this funny excursion to the popular Genoa Aquarium; a quick ferry transfer takes us to what is reputed to be one of Europe's best aquariums, renowned for its size and vast variety of marine creatures. As one of the most natural and environmentally friendly aquariums in the world, everyone will enjoy the collections of multi-coloured tropical fish, sharks, natural corals, penguins and dolphins. After you will have a quick boat trip back to the ship.

This enjoyable half-day outing begins with a boat transfer to Genoa's aquarium area from where you'll then set off on your city tour. A walk through the narrow lanes  called caruggi  of Genoa's historical district will see you reach the Diocesan Museum, located in the old residence of the canons of the "Cattedrale di San Lorenzo" and accessible through its lovely cloister. Follow your guide inside the Cardinal Fieschi's room, where recipes and instructions will be given to learn the use of mortar and pestle to prepare a classic pesto alla Genovese. In addition to seeing the expert preparing the pesto sauce, you'll also learn about the the ingredients and the secret of making perfect pesto and curious history of the green sauce. Get off the ship and spend a day in magnificent Milano, the 2nd largest city in Italy as regards to population, politics and cultural affairs, and the first in the field of commerce, industry and banking. Relax on your 2-hour coach drive on the motorway from Genoa to Milan. Upon arrival, begin a 1.5-hour guided walking tour that will unveil some of Milan's best spots: Piazza Castello until reaching "La Scala"  Milan's Opera House, "Galleria Vittorio Emanuele" and Cathedral Square. Enjoy some free time in "Piazza Duomo" looking for a nice place to have lunch or, for the braver, to climb up the gold statue "Madonnina", the statue of the Virgin Mary placed atop the Cathedral. Alternatively, if you are a shopping lover, Milan is the place to be! Your 2-hour coach drive to Genoa port and your cruise ship ends this exclusive excursion.

Just a few hours of your time are all it takes to get the best of Genoa, beginning with a short walk from the port to your first stop: the truly resplendent 16th-century Palazzo del Principe. You will have a chance to explore the historical building with its frescoes, tapestries, artwork by old masters and other hidden treasures during the guided visit. A private coach will then whisk you off on a non-stop drive around Genoa, taking in such sights as the port district, Genoa's famed aquarium, the Fiera del Mare indoor arena and the expo complex. You will be taken on a guided walk around the narrow lanes and alleyways of the old quarter, the centrepiece of which is the 14th-century Cathedral of Santa Maria de Ciutadella. Leave the port of Mahon and drive northwards through Puerto de Addaya where we will stop for photos. We will continue to the fishing village of Fornells, famous for its lobster stew and one of Winston Churchills favorite places. Enjoy a scenic tour through the lovely landscaped gardens of Cala Tirant and up to Mount Toro. Here we will stop to explore the "Nuestra Señora del Toro" monastery, built by the monks of St. Augustin's Order in the XVII century. Return to Mahon where you can either spend time in the city centre or return to the port.

Enjoy a comprehensive excursion exploring some of the villages of this enchanting island. We will drive to Binibeca, a quaint town located on the south east coast of Minorca; it has a sheltered cove with a small, sandy beach. Next, we will drive to Torralba, which is famous for its "taulas" - T-shaped stone monoliths typical of the Talayot culture (2.000 BC), mysterious edifices that possibly served as altars. Our next stop will be at Mount Toro; here we will have time for a short visit of the "Nuestra Señora Del Toro" monastery built by the monks of St. Augustins Order in the XVII century. Return to the port.

Malaga's beautiful old town is a UNESCO World Heritage site with monuments from the Phoenician, Roman, Arabic and Christian eras. No wonder it's described as an "open museum"! And you'll get to see it in all its glory on this cycle tour. You'll start by following a bike leader around its cobbled streets, past the botanical gardens, Malaga Cathedral and the Arabic quarter of Alcazaba, making your way to Picasso's Birthplace. From there, you'll cycle up to Gibralfaro Castle, which towers over the city, offering you uninterrupted panoramic views of Malaga and its surroundings. Then you'll leave Malaga behind, following your guide to El Palo beach, where you'll have the chance to enjoy a swim or simply savour some of the amazing local cuisine in one of many restaurants by the sea. Concluding the tour, you'll pedal back to the city and your ship.

A 1-hour drive by coach from Malaga port will take you to the coastal town of Nerja, home to a famous network of caves that were re-discovered in modern times by a group of potholing friends in 1959. The caves were inhabited from approx. 25.000 B.C. to the Bronze Age, with cave paintings delivering lasting proof of human habitation. Considered to be one of the most beautiful complexes of its kind in Europe, the cave system is made up of various chambers with their characteristic stalagmites and stalactites, including the amazing Cataclysm Chamber  which houses a perpendicular central column that rises 32 metres into the air  and the so-called Hall of Nativity. You will also have some free time to enjoy the panoramic view from the "Balcony of Europe" before your tour concludes with your return to Malaga.

Sitting pretty on the Costa del Sol, the bustling city of Málaga is up for exploration on this appealing half-day sightseeing tour. This is not only one of the most ecological ways to get around, but also promises to be huge fun. After a short briefing on how to ride one of these devices, you'll be able to follow your guide on a comprehensive tour of the best locations in the city. At the end of your exploration, you'll return to the ship with a shuttle bus.

Perfect for the entire family and a sure-fire kid pleaser, the Selwo Marina Park lies about a 50-minute coach drive from the port and will be your destination on this half-day outing. Once there, you'll have time to explore the park's four areas at your leisure. Check out "Las Antillas" to see dolphins and sea lions, "La Hondonada" for exotic birds, "Isla de Hielo" to watch penguins being fed and the "Amazonía y Manglar de los Caimanes" area to visit alligators and other reptiles. After boarding a modern coach at Málaga pier, your journey of discovery begins with an orientational spin to see the city's most prominent sights and includes a brief photo call at Mount Gibralfaro, from where superb views are yours to enjoy. Moving on, prepare your senses for the myriad colours and aromas of Málaga's main market, the Mercado Atarazanas, a so-called "Historic-Artistic Monument". The market's old gate continues to stand proud as a reminder of the site's Moorish past.
