At the Golden Buddha Temple, you will see a massive statue of Buddha that was once covered with plaster to hide its gold composition from invaders. The Buddha at Wat Phra Keo temple may be even more sacred and priceless as it is carved from a single piece of emerald-green jasper. The temple sits within the Grand Palace complex, a collection of lavishly decorated buildings, bejeweled with gilt and multi-colored glass mosaics, and soaring finials topped with glittering spires.
