The historical city of Funchal has been Madeira's capital for more than 500 years and its greater municipal area is also home to a panoply of untouched natural beauty that this exciting road trip in a 4x4 will give you a chance to experience at first hand. Once settled in your modern jeep, you will make your way inland through one of Madeira's most enchanting forest regions, whose abundance of wild fennel also gave Funchal its name. As you travel along a pleasantly meandering and undulating route, you can sit back and savour amazing views of mountain peaks and verdant valleys - and capture some fabulous vistas for posterity during numerous photo stops. Largely hidden by the mountainous topology of this volcanic island, these secluded areas and protected natural habitats promise to give you an authentic taste of the island in its purest form, "essence of Madeira", if you will. Your essential exploration of Madeira's scenic interior and celebration of off-road driving ends with your return to the ship, richer in experiences and memories.

Starting out from the port of Funchal, the capital of the verdant island of Madeira, the tour first takes you to Terreiro de Luta, Poiso and Pico de Areeiro for breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. The excursion continues with a visit to a local trout farm in Ribeiro Frio - which means cold river in Portuguese - and a scenic drive through sugar cane plantations up to Faial, a pretty village located along Madeira's northern coastline. There will also be time to relax over a delicious lunch. The tour then heads to Portela in the north of the island, near Porto da Cruz. An enjoyable poncha-tasting awaits you here, one of the certain highlights of the tour. Continue on to Machico, a historical fishing village before returning to Funchal to have some free time before returning to the port.

Leave the vessel and get ready to fall in love with the lush landscape of Madeira. A coach drive will take you to Pico dos Barcelos from where we can admire breathtaking views over the island of Madeira. Continue to Monte and visit to "Nossa Senora da Monte" church. We will indulge in the fun local past-time of toboggan riding as we take ride in a wicker chariot through the streets! The pace changes at Livramento point where we will visit an embroidery factory. During the tour, you will have the chance to sample some of the local Madeira wines.

Take yourself off on a leisurely half-day jaunt around lovely Madeira and also spend some time in the city of Funchal on a tour that begins with a coach ride across the island to reach your first destination: the belvedere of Pico dos Barcelos. You'll have a bit of time to soak up amazing views of the island during a photo stop before you move on to Cabo Girão, the world's second highest cliff. You can choose whether to venture right up to the safety railings or enjoy the view from a little farther back, either way this is a great spot to take photos. Last up on the tour is the vantage point of Pico da Torre, which affords all-round vistas of the parish of Câmara de Lobos from about 205 m/670 ft. above mean sea level. On your return to Funchal, time will be yours to spend in town on your own before you return to the ship.

Channel your inner Cousteau and set sail for a thoroughly immersive  yet dry  exploration of the thrilling marine wildlife found in the offshore waters of Madeiras south coast. Once briefed and safely on the boat, you can begin to look forward to the thrilling moment when you spot your first dolphin or whale at close quarters, a memory simply made to be cherished. Your marine biologist guide will keep you infotained with fascinating facts about the various species that call this part of the Atlantic Ocean home. The roughly 2-hour turn on the boat will give you plenty of time to take in your surrounding and watch out for pods of whales and dolphins before you begin to head back to the shore and leave the delightful company of these endearing aquatic mammals. Please note: guests must be in good health and at least 11 years of age to take part. The tour is considered to be unsuitable both for guests suffering from neck or back problems and for pregnant women. Information available in English only during the tour, which will also run in the event of rain, provided the water is calm. While sightings of whales and dolphins cannot be guaranteed, they are very likely (more than 90% success rate).

Volcanic in origin and with vestiges of low-level volcanic activity still much in evidence, the sparse lavascape that characterises Lanzarote makes the island a trekker's  and photographer's  dream. After leaving the ship and meeting your local guide, a mere 45 minutes on the coach will see you reach the starting point of your trekking adventure: the Timanfaya National Park. Less time on the coach means more time on foot, and a 3-hour trekking route awaits you that will take you from spectacular craters through craggy, petrified lava flows to volcanic lakes. You never know, you may even spot a lava tunnel on the way. While seemingly bare, unadorned and even austere at first glance, you will find the otherworldly landscape soon begins to grow on you and reveal itself as endowed with a beauty all its own, one that is well worth capturing in some photos. Following all the hard yards of walking, a welcome opportunity to rest your legs then follows on the leisurely drive back to Arrecife and your ship.

Take the ride of a lifetime! Let the energy and adrenaline capture you in this amazing adventure! After a 30-minute coach transfer, you will reach the trike station. There you will receive detailed instruction and driving training so that you can safely steer your 3-wheel motorcycle. Next, begin your adventure and follow an itinerary to discover the volcanic landscape of the island and small little villages. Pass through La Geria vineyards with a stop at the Monument of the Peasant and continue to Famara area and along the coast with a stop at the famous Hervideros. The return to the port will see you pass through the small village of Yaiza. Feel the rush, feel the emotion and give yourself the chance to try something different!

The destination of this fun and active excursion is Papagayo, in the south of Lanzarote, one of the most popular beaches on the island. Located in a small, half-moon shaped cove, Papagayo will captivate you not only with its beautiful scenery but also with its transparent sea and still waters, ideal for marine activities such as kayaking or snorkelling. Leave the port, follow the route going to the south of the island along cliffs, caves, and untamed beaches. Enjoy the scenery of the Cliffs of the Natural Monument de los Ajaches, an arid, rocky landscape worthy to be seen at the end of which rewarding you with the beauty of Papagayo. After hearing a safety briefing about kayaking for those who have no experience, have fun kayaking in the still waters or swimming and snorkelling. After recharging your batteries with an energetic chocolate bar and a fruit, continue your adventure to the tip of Papagayo, with the most incredible cliffs during your route. Eruptions, volcanism, conquest of the Canary Islands, pirate attacks and biological values of our Biosphere Reserve, will be explained during the tour.

Lanzarote, with its lunar landscapes and panoramas, is the place for an adventure on dirt roads and off the beaten track. Leave the harbour, join 'Lanzarote a Caballo' and climb aboard your two-seater Buggy Trail vehicle and set off to discover the island. The route will take you to Tias and Güime, following an off-road route with an initial stop to admire the distant views of Fuerteventura. Passing through the beautiful towns of Conil and La Asomada, you'll reach Puerto Calero. Have your camera ready to capture some memorable pictures the crystalline water and of Lanzarote's scenery for your memory book. Stops along the way will give you a chance to rest and, if you wish, exchange with your companion to drive the vehicle. This funny adventure concludes returning to the point where you will leave the Buggy to catch the coach back to the port.

Feel the rush, feel the emotion, and give yourself the chance to try something different! Enjoy the island of Lanzarote in a different way, by driving a Buggy! Leave the port and reach Puerto Calero where you will receive detailed instruction and driving training so that you can safely steer your buggy. Next, begin your adventure passing through the volcanic scenery of La Geria, a unique landscape due to the great extent of volcanic ash and characterized by the cultivation of vines in holes, where the wise hand of man protected them from the wind. From Tinajo, you will drive off road to La Santa, with photo stop at the red mountain for some fantastic views. Continue along La Vegueta towards the Monument of the Peasant, a tribute to the local farmers, and from San Bartolomé, the geographical centre of the island, continue to northern area of Arrecife, passing by Güime and ending at Puerto Del Carmen.

Apart from offering visitors year-round sunshine, any number of appealing beach resorts and the fabulous Timanfaya National Park, the island of Lanzarote is also home to one of nature's more unusual creations: a sightless, albino cave crab called munidopsis polymorpha that lives in the eternal gloom of the historical Jameos del Agua cave complex in the north of the island. Discover this intriguing creature on a tour that begins with a coach ride from Arrecife up past Teguise and on to your fascinating destination. The Jameos del Agua caves were formed when the accumulated gases caused the ceiling to blow off two sections of the world's longest submerged lava tube, called the Tunnel of Atlantis. They not only feature the usual stalactites, stalagmites and an underground seawater lake with the endemic albino crabs, but also surprise visitors with a bar, restaurant, concert hall and even a pool that were designed and built by the Spanish artist, César Manrique, in the 1960s. Enjoy the surroundings while you take a good look at these unique crustaceans, so perfectly adapted to their natural environment and a fine example of evolution at work. Next, stop for brief orientation tour at Teguise, located in the center of the island and Lanzarote's old capital, and still the best exponent of traditional architecture with its many little churches, convents, coloured and lively markets and colonial houses. Before returning to the port, the tour concludes with a stop at a local Aloe Vera farm, to learn about the benefits of this plant, typical of the warmer regions, that grows exceptionally well on the island.

Intimately intertwined with the legacy of 20th-century lanzaroteño artist and environmentalist César Manrique, Lanzarote is an intriguing island with an utterly extraordinary geology of 300 volcanic cones, eerie blackened lava fields and the occasional bucolic, palm-filled valley. This half-day excursion takes you to the south of the island with amazing views from your coach on the way. After boarding a coach at the port in Casablanca, a 1.5-hour drive will first take you north to reach your destination, the seat of the Moroccan government and the King's residence: the city of Rabat. Your guided tour of the capital's main highlights begins at Grand Mechouar Official Square and then moves on to Hassan Tower, the minaret of what was once intended to become the world's largest mosque when building began in 1195. Next up is a visit to the city's almost cathedral-like Portuguese Cistern, a water reservoir with internal arches built in 1514. The domed ceiling mirrored in the shallow layer of water on the floor creates a mesmerising  and memorable  effect. A walk through the city's historical medina will be followed by a typical Moroccan lunch, after which the tour draws to a close with your return to Casablanca and your ship.

Located in western Morocco on the Atlantic Ocean, the huge city of Casablanca is already a remarkable sight during the day, but at night, the place lights up in an array of different colours that will astound you. Tenerife is the largest of Spain's Canary Islands, off the Atlantic coast of West Africa. It's dominated by Mount Teide, a dormant volcano that is Spain's tallest peak. The island has many beaches with sands from yellow to black, resort areas and an incredible lush nature. After leaving the port, you will drive north to Anaga Mountains with some stops at two viewpoints, La Jardina and Cruz Del Carmen, giving you the chance to add more pictures to your memory book. Continue through Anaga Mountains and Las Mercedes forest en route to the Mirador Pico del Inglés at about 990 m/3250 ft. above mean sea level. Next, head for San Cristóbal de La Laguna, Tenerife's former capital until 1723, for a short walking tour and some free time to explore on your own. In a local bodega you will stop for a tasting session of local cheese, bread, and wine. The return to the port ends your excursion.

Once at the park, your experience guide will take you on a 3-hour adventurous trekking to the enormous crater landscape of Las Cañadas del Teide. At a height of 2.000 metres, you will have unique possibility to admire impressive geologic formations as well as the special vegetation of the park, all that's worth capturing in some photos for your memory book. At the end of the trek route, you will reach a great viewpoint for a break before starting your coach drive back to the port.
